Dear RSU 1 Staff and Families,

I am writing to inform you that an individual in the Morse High School/Bath Tech community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was in school during the period of infection/transmission. All those considered a close contact to the positive case have been individually notified and, if necessary, excluded from school. As a reminder, those participating in weekly pooled testing do not need to quarantine from school and school based activities even if they are a close contact to a positive case.

Upon learning of the confirmed positive test, we implemented our response protocol. We must follow privacy laws and protect the confidentiality interests of every student and staff member, while also ensuring that we are protecting the health and well-being of all members of our school community.

We thank you for assisting us in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Wearing masks, getting vaccinated, if eligible, and signing up for pooled testing are the three most effective steps we can take to keep our schools open. It is not too late to sign up for weekly pooled testing and avoid the need to quarantine. If you would like to do so, please follow the sign-up steps on this pooled testing consent letter.

Questions for the school can be directed to the Morse High School Nurse, Katrina Barter, by calling 207-443-8250 or emailing kbarter@rsu1.org. For general COVID-19 questions, dial 211 (or 1-866-811-5695).

Sincerely,
