Dear RSU 1 Community,

This letter is to inform you that an individual associated with Morse High School has received a positive COVID 19 test result. The individual was in school during the period of infection/transmission. All those considered a close contact to the positive case have been individually notified and excluded from school.

We are sharing this with all RSU 1 staff and families out of an abundance of caution. Upon learning of the positive case, we implemented our response protocol. We must follow privacy laws and protect the confidentiality interests of every student and staff member, while also ensuring that we are protecting the health and well-being of all members of our school community. We are committed to keeping our students and staff safe and appreciate our working relationship with the Maine Department of Education, Maine CDC, and school physician, Dr. Amina Hanna.

Questions for the school can be directed to the Morse High School nurse, Katrina Barter, by calling 207-443-8250 or emailing kbarter@rsu1.org.  For general COVID-19 questions, dial 211 (or 1-866-811-5695). You can also text your ZIP code to 898-211 or email info@211maine.org. Call a health care provider for any questions you have about your symptoms. More information can be found at www.maine.gov/dhhs/coronavirus  or www.cdc.gov/coronavirus.

Sincerely,

Patrick Manuel

Superintendent of Schools
