November 30th,  2020

Greetings Wildcat Families,

I hope you all had a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!  As we return to school, I am thrilled to tell you that we are excited and prepared to welcome all of our Pre-K-5 students back to school five days a week beginning on Monday, December 7th.  Our 6th-8th grade students will continue in their current hybrid model.  The purpose of my letter today is to remind our Pre-K-5 families that we will be returning full time next week and to review our arrival and dismissal procedures.  I will begin with a review of our Pre-K-5 plan:

Pre-K-5 Student Return to 100% In-Person Learning

  • Pre-K will return to their classroom five days a week.

  • Kindergarten will return to their classroom five days a week.

  • First grade will return to their classroom five days a week.

  • Second grade will be divided into three groups and return to school five days a week.  One with Mrs. Vise, Mrs. Pols and Mrs. Kaser.  Families have been notified of this change if they are affected and they will be seeing their new classroom with Mrs. Kaser this week.

  • Third grade will be divided into two groups and return to school five days a week.  Mrs. Keefeā€™s class will move to the larger music room as their classroom.  Families have been notified of this change if they are affected and they will be seeing their new classroom with Mrs. Keefe this week.

  • Fourth grade will be divided into three groups and return to school five days a week.  One with Ms. Culley, Mr. Emerson and Mr. Lucas.  Families have been notified of this change if they are affected and they will be seeing their new classroom with Mr. Lucas this week.

  • Fifth grade will return to their classroom five days a week.

  • Sixth grade will remain in their current hybrid schedule.

  • Seventh grade will remain in their current hybrid schedule.

  • Eighth grade will remain in their current hybrid schedule.

The most important change that will take place on Monday, December 7th for all of our students is that we will begin a staggered arrival and dismissal schedule.  This process is needed in order to manage the number of students riding the bus and the number of families dropping off and picking up their students in our traffic loops.  I have reviewed the process below.

K-8 Staggered Arrival and Dismissal

  • All Pre-K-5 students will begin attending school 5 days a week.

  • Pre-K will attend from 8:20-12:00.

  • K-8 will begin staggered arrival and dismissal times.  The early group will arrive at school at 8:20 and bus dismissal will begin at 2:05.  Parents should arrive to pick students up at 2:15.  The late group will arrive at school at 9:20 and bus dismissal will begin at 2:55.  Parents should arrive to pick students up at 3:05.  Student assignments to these groups will be shared ASAP.

  • Wednesdays will be a late start for PreK-5. (Grades 6-8 do not attend in-person on Wednesdays).  Pre-K will arrive with the early group at 9:20 and the late group will arrive at 10:20.

In the following link you will find our arrival and dismissal procedures clearly outlined.  These procedures have not changed from what we have been doing all year other than the times.  We know these procedures really well and now we will just be doing them twice a day.

Lastly, I want to thank you all again for your patience and support as we continue to make school as safe and engaging for students as possible.

Stay Safe,

Mr. Libby and Mrs. Dimbleby
