Great things are happening at WCS!

All students have done an incredible job staying safe and following new procedures as we get into the swing of things!  We look forward to progressing in the right direction so that we can continue to stay in school in person!

This week we welcomed our newest Wildcats! A great big welcome to all of our new Kindergarten and Pre-K students! It’s great to have you here.

Keep checking our website www.woolwich.rsu1.org as we’re always working to improve the information we give to you! You’ll notice “Live Feed” on the front page of the website. We will be updating this with current information that is announced to students, and valuable to you! You’ll find the menu, Friday’s newsletters and lots of other information on the site as well. Thanks for checking in!

Beginning next Friday, September 25th, we will once again be sending out our weekly newsletters by email! If you would prefer to have a hard copy of the newsletter sent home every Friday, please let the office or your child’s teacher know, and we will be sure to get one to you by “Backpack Express.” You can always find the newsletter, school menu and other important information on our website, www.woolwich.rsu1.org posted under “NEWS.”

Beginning on Monday, September 28th, we will have two arrival and dismissal groups. Every student has been assigned to one of those two groups. The early group will arrive approximately at 8:20 and will be dismissed at 2:15. The late group will arrive approximately at 9:20 and be dismissed at 3:00. If you have not received information on your child(ren)’s grouping, please call the main office, 443-9739.

A note from Mr. Hutchings - Due to the current guidelines in place, we will unfortunately not be having our usual soccer season.  Although this is very sad news, we are excited to announce that we will be offering an in house intramural for soccer during the month of October.  There will be more details on this coming soon!  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.  - Sincerely, Mr. Hutchings

School picture day will be taking place over a few days in October. You can easily purchase pictures on the Lifetouch website ahead of picture day, or after the pictures have been taken. More information about the ordering process will be made available as we get closer to the date!

On September 1, 2020 the USDA announced that they will be extending the waiver for the Summer Meals Program through December 31, 2020 (as funding allows). RSU1 has decided to opt into this program. What this means for students of the District is that School Meals will be offered for NO CHARGE through 12/31/2020, or until the funds run out. This program is offered to EVERYONE and will help our schools continue to receive funding for the food service program in the future.

If you have questions about this Program, please contact: Tim Harkins, Food Service Director RSU1 (207) 443 6601 ex.114 or email: tharkins@rsu1.org

If you would like to utilize the “Take Home Meals” program during hybrid learning, please email Joanne Wells at jwells@rsu1.org to sign up weekly, or for more information.

Monday, October 12th, is Indigenous People’s Day (Formerly Columbus Day). This will be a four day week of school.
