STEM+M Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Bath Middle School

We hosted a ceremonial ribbon cutting of their new STEM+M lab at Bath Middle School on November 6th! This learning space allows students to dive into the STEM and manufacturing opportunities. This partnership provides learning materials and lab equipment to engage students early in the industrial arts field prior to heading to high school. Manufacturing jobs are in significant need nationwide and this effort hopes to spark interest early as they begin to think about their future beyond graduation. This is a 5 year grant through Diversified Educational Systems. Joining were representatives from STEM+M, state and city representatives, the Commissioner of Education & CTE State Director, school board members, BIW staff and other local businesses. As guests circulated the room, students were creating and sharing their projects that included but not limited to; robotics, 3D printing, circuit boards and more. We are proud of our Becky Glennie, BMS STEM teacher and her students who proudly shared their hard work and learning from this year.
