Great things are happening at WCS!

The Woolwich Warrior Challenge PTA fundraiser has reached the team goal of $12,000. As a reward for reaching this goal as a school, Mr. Libby will be spending a day working on the roof. Let’s all hope for good weather!

WOOLWICH WARRIOR CHALLENGE

Wow! WHAT A WEEK! Thank you Wildcats for all you efforts to sign up for the Woolwich Warrior Challenge and share our cause! We have met our goal of $10,000 (look for an awesome morning arrival surprise soon!) AND we are sooooo close to meeting our $12,000 goal! Mr. Libby is getting his ladder ready and we are figuring out if we can deliver his lunch by drone!!!

THE BIG EVENT is October 25th starting at 5 pm. Middle schoolers are up first and the top performers receive custom WWC shirts! There will be music, food for sale and lots of fun as we cheer each other on and see who can beat the course! 

We are still looking for Adopt a Classroom sponsors! When you adopt a classroom you provide all the funds we need to give our prizes and incentives, reward classrooms for meeting goals, pay for our online fundraising platform AND put on the big event at the end of our pledge period! 

These classrooms and school areas are still available for “adoption”! Contact us via Facebook or email at mywcspta@gmail.com if you’d like to sponsor! The adoption fee is $100 OR you can be a GOLD sponsor for $250!

2019 VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY AT WOOLWICH CENTRAL SCHOOL

Tuesday, November 12th at 1:30PM in the GYM

Come to see: Grades 1 & 2, Middle School Band and Middle School Chorus

If you would like to take your student home with you from the afternoon performance:

- Please remember your ID

- Check in with the office before the performance

- We will arrange for those students to be released to you at the end of the performance.

SCHOOL PICTURES

School pictures have arrived and have been sent home with students. If your child was absent on picture day or if you would like to have a retake, you can plan on that for Wednesday, October 30th. Bring in your picture packet  on retake day and Lifetouch will replace it with the retake. Questions? Go to mylifetouch.com and use ID LG229005Q0. You can also order more pictures from the website. Paper order forms are available in the WCS Office.

SCHOOL LUNCH

SCHOOL MEALS ELIGIBILITY REMINDER.  If your child had FREE or REDUCED status last year, and you did not fill out an application for benefits for this school year (19-20), those benefits from last year will end on 10/16/19 and your student will now be PAID status.  If you have already filled out a Free and Reduced application, please ignore this reminder. If you have not yet filled out an application, please request one from the front office or go to the RSU1 website to print one out. In order to maintain your benefits, it is important that you complete an application as soon as possible.  If you have questions, or do not know your child's status, you can reach Tim Harkins, Food Service Director at: (207) 443 6601 ex.114 or tharkins@rsu1.org. SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS SUPPORT

The Salvation Army is currently taking applications for support with Christmas until November 7th. You can apply in person at the Salvation Army on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9AM - 12PM. You’ll need to bring a photo ID, proof of income and proof of expenses. If you qualify you’ll receive an outfit for your children as well as some toys for Christmas.

PATTEN FREE LIBRARY HAUNTED HOUSE

This year, the Teen Library Council of Patten Free Library is teaming up with the Solar Star Masonic Lodge to create the creepiest haunted house tour ever. On Sunday, October 27, from 6-9 p.m., the Solar Star Lodge will open its doors at 968 Washington Street for the event. The Teen Library Council (including Woolwich residents Lora LaRochelle, Lucas Blaiklock, Oscar Hennin, Natalie Emmerson, Nina Ryan) will stage 20-minute guided tours of the “Plague House” for all who dare to cross the threshold. Three floors of horror! You can reserve a tour time through the Information Desk at the Library (443-5141, ext. 12, or pflreference@patten.lib.me.us) We can accommodate tour groups of up to five people per tour. Recommended for middle school and up.
