Woolwich Central School

Welcome back to school! We are so excited to see all the new and familiar faces! The first days of school are an exciting time, but it can be stressful getting back into a routine. Attending school on time every day, is key to children’s success! We miss our students when they are not here.

Please remember that you need to call, email, or send in a note into the office if your child is, was, or is going to be absent from school. Unexcused absences can lead to truancy. Any extended school absences must receive prior approval from Mrs. Willette or Mr. Libby.

Just one day a month can really add up. Students missing ten or more days of school, for any reason, has a direct impact on academic and social emotional success. Here are some parent friendly tips to help everyone stay on track.

  1. Lay out clothes and pack school bags and lunches the night before

  2. Set up a consistent bedtime and morning routine

  3. Ensure students go to school every day, unless they are truly sick

  4. Remove all electronics from the bedroom

  5. Reach out to the school counselor, teacher, nurse, dean of students or principal, if your children are feeling anxious about school

  6. Develop back up plans for getting your children to school if something comes up

Please remember, we are here to help! See you soon!
