You know us as the people who maintain the iPads and computers, keep Infinite Campus running, and generally keep the computers and network running. Fundamentally, though we're here to help the students, faculty, and staff of RSU 1 fulfill our joint educational mission.
Part of that mission is the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) that provides all students, 7-12 with an Apple iPad Retina, and full time teachers, K-12 with Apple iPad Minis and MacBook Airs, to extend the reach of digital learning deeper into their classroom. We're committed to working with you to reach the full potential of these educational resources.
The Maine Learning Technology Initiative offers enhanced learning opportunities for students. Formally known as "the laptop program," MLTI IV provides an Apple iPad to every student in grades 9-12 at RSU1. The MLTI Refresh for 7th and 8th grades returns to a MacBook. This provides the potential for students to learn in new ways, and develop the skills they need for college and beyond.
Bath Middle School and Woolwich Central School have been participating schools since 2003, Morse High School since 2009. The technology resources made possible by MLTI are an integral part of the curriculum at those schools.
