Athletics Mission Statement
Regional School Unit 1 (RSU 1) is committed to preparing students for their next steps in life through a challenging academic environment in conjunction with co-curricular activities. By providing students access to opportunities in fourteen different sports, they will receive education that extends beyond the curriculum of the classroom. Combining curricular education with co-curricular opportunities such as athletics, student-athletes learn about diversity, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, physical education, quick critical thinking and decision-making skills. Learning within a team environment helps develop characteristics that will allow the student-athlete to become well-rounded, exemplary citizens of the community in which they live. Every student-athlete will be treated with respect as an individual as well as part of a team and will learn skills outside of an academic environment that will help them succeed in becoming an outstanding, contributing member of society.
