Two of our Teachers were recognized at the January 22nd RSU1 Board of Directors meeting for recent awards. Congratulations Monica Wright and Johnna Stanton!

Monica Wright, teacher at Bath Middle SchoolBath Middle School Science Teacher Monica Wright has been named as a recipient of the 2017 Eberhard Thiele Environmental Educator Award by the Maine Environmental Education Association. This award recognizes a classroom teacher who incorporates environmental education into their pedagogical philosophy and practice and was awarded for her creation of authentic learning opportunities for her students and engaging them in their environment.

Johnna Stanton, teacher at Morse High SchoolMorse High School English Teacher Johnna Stanton has been selected for the Claudette and John Brassil Distinguished Educator Award by the Maine Council for English Language Arts. This award recognizes exceptional English language arts and literacy teachers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, contributions to the profession, and commitment to the community, and was awarded for her enthusiasm, community service and extracurricular leadership.
